Health Outreach To The Middle East
The Christian Medical Fellowship is committed to providing medical and spiritual support to health care providers throughout the region

Christian Medical Fellowship

With its genesis in 1981, the Christian Medical Fellowship (CMF) has been dedicated to training and equipping healthcare workers (doctors, staff nurses, pharmacists etc.) both professionally and spiritually, so that they may become living witnesses to their colleagues and patients, as well as their community.

CMF provides medical professionals with the proper tools and skills to go into countries around the world and proclaim the saving message of Christ through their work and daily activities. Over the last 27 years, opportunities for ministry have broadened, resulting in a significant increased in staff.

From its inception, H.O.M.E. has supported and co-sponsored most of the projects that CMF is involved with:

  •   The Mobile Clinic,

  •   Home Healthcare Project, and

  •   The Good Samaritan Geriatric Hospital

Other CMF Activities

Spiritual Meetings

Every Tuesday, healthcare workers meet for prayer and organizational planning sessions. And then, on the last Friday of every month, doctors, pharmacists, staff nurses, physiotherapists, and paramedics meet at a nearby church where they spend time in worship, followed by a medical presentation.

Annual Christmas Celebration

CMF celebrates Christmas by holding an annual festival at the “Opera House” or at a luxury hotel with the intent of attracting a variety of healthcare workers from across Egypt. Through this festival, CMF leaders and members expose the newcomers to the loving message of Christ. This approach has proved to be very successful, with the number of attendees ranging from 800 to 1000 every time.

Evangelistic Praise Festivals

With the hope of reaching out to younger healthcare workers, CMF has been holding Evangelistic Praise Festivals every year. These festivals primarily target medical students, as they provide a wonderful opportunity to expose them to CMF’s vision, as well as to the Gospel. With a program similar to that of the annual Christmas celebration, these festivals are held in ordinary halls and are attended by a younger audience. In general, 600 to 800 students attend every year. CMF is currently working on holding such evangelistic outreaches twice a year.

Conferences

CMF plans and organizes several other conferences in co-sponsorship with other Christian medical organizations.

CMF Medical/Spiritual Magazine “The Good Samaritan”

"The Good Samaritan" is published by the CMF for Christian physicians and other healthcare workers. The magazine was started in 1985 by a group of doctors who saw the need to reach out to their fellow colleagues and workers through a publication that would combine both medical and spiritual subjects relevant to their everyday lives. Besides being a source of encouragement and support to the reader through spiritual messages, this magazine also discusses salient medical ethics topics from a Biblical perspective.

The magazine is widely distributed to medical personnel throughout the Middle East, as well as in the USA, Canada and Australia.
